Grace Mothers is a wonderful program we have here at Grace Fellowship Church.  When a woman is expecting a new arrival, we match her up with a Gracemother who steps up to take that woman under her wing during this exciting and transitional time.
John Bowlby said "all mothers of young children need to be mothered themselves.” Having gone through the experience of becoming a mom nearly three years ago myself, this resonates true with me!  The support I received from the women in our church was invaluable to me, for the births of both of my children.

We are looking for women who are willing to serve as Gracemothers, particularly those who are past the infant stage themselves.  Below is an overview of the duties we ask of our volunteer Gracemothers. If you are not a "physical" mother to children, please do not exclude yourself from being a GraceMother.  We encourage you to read Titus 2 and consider yourself a Spiritual Mother to these Mom's. If you are interested in serving our body in this manner, please contact the Gracemother coordinator at gracemotherGFC@gmail.com.

If you are an expectant mom and would like to be part of this experience, please email the Gracemother coordinator at gracemotherGFC@gmail.com to sign up.  We will match you up with a Gracemother as soon as possible.  Please be sure to include your due date, the sex of the baby if you know, your mailing address, phone number, and email address.
Thanks for considering!  Carey Pace, Gracemother Coordinator ------

Testimonials about GraceMothers:
"I found it a privilege to be able to be a Gracemothers to one of our expecting Mom's.  With the use of MealBaby is made taking care of the meals sooooooo easy!"

"Having been on both sides of the Gracemothers program, I' ve seen not only how special it was to have someone praying for me, advising me, and taking care of meals for me, but also how great it felt to give back to a new mom by being someone else she could depend on.  The gracemoms I had were such a blessing in arranging details during times when I was consumed by taking care of a newborn."

Gracemother Overview The role of Gracemother is simply to connect a new mom to the church body at a time in her life when she really needs it.  By providing prayer, encouragement, meals, a gift, and valuable advice, you will be showing her the love of Christ.  A new mom’s needs will vary depending on whether it’s her first child or fifth, so each experience will be unique.

Prayer & SupportThe Gracemother provides a unique role in keeping in touch with the expectant mom, providing encouragement and a listening ear, and lifting her and her specific requests up in prayer.

Meals Coordination One of the most tangible gifts of a Gracemother is coordinating meals that are delivered immediately after the baby arrives.  Now that we use the MealBaby online meal registry, this part is even simpler!   The Gracemother will set everything up through MealBaby and let the church body help by bringing meals at their convenience!

Gift DeliveryThe Gracemother delivers a gift from the church for the new mom and baby.

Resource Now that extended family is often no longer local, the Gracemother may find herself in the role of advisor.  That’s great!  It can be a wonderful opportunity to share from your experience and encourage her.  You might find yourself providing tips on anything from how to handle heartburn during pregnancy to how to get a baby to go to sleep.
